The reason I am not a huge fan of the niqab is because of how it’s portrayed by Muslim men and women. Women wear the niqab because they are so ‘alluring…’ is that the reason I wear the hijab? I have met niqabis that say something completely different as to why they wear the niqab, and it is inspiring…

But the overwhelming majority of commentary on the niqab is about how men will struggle less because women are covered up. Or that women are sinners.

If only we could make the more inspiring understanding of the niqab a little more mainstream.
