Protests Against Anti-Islam Film Gain Momentum in Pakistan
Things are getting very stormy in the capital of the country all thanks to a ridiculous, hate-filled C-grade movie that didn’t deserve attention to begin with. The Pakistani Army has been called in to protect the diplomatic enclave. Many on Twitter and Facebook are denouncing the riots while urging others to opt for peaceful ways to condemn the movie. Mobile services in Pakistan might be suspended from 8AM till 11PM tomorrow (21st of September). Officials argue that this is to avoid any possible terror attacks entailing cell-enabled explosions. Protests continue in Karachi.
From Tribune’s fresh report on the current riots in Islamabad: “Police fired live rounds and tear gas Thursday to break up a crowd of around 1,000 students, many armed with wooden clubs, protesting in Islamabad against a US-made anti-Islam film.”
This isn’t going to end well.
My cousins in Karachi are really scared to go to work, because of all the riots :(
