If I remember correctly, it was implied or stated directly that the male she was with (her father?) was really strict… and in the end Shirley’s kids put on the burka while the girl played with the niqab. It made it seem that niqabis don’t have fun, but all the teenage niqabis I’ve met are the wildest Muslims I’ve met (in a halal way lol.) I wish they showed that niqabis don’t just quietly sit there dreaming to have fun.
